Opera: The Tender Land
Jan 24, 2013 The School of Music presents Aaron Coplands' The Tender Land, a thought-provoking portrait of Midwestern farm life during the Great Depression. Copland was inspired by the searing photo-journalism of Walker Evans, whose work explored the hardship and privation of rural America during the 1930s. Performances are at 8 p.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday.
