First Bennett-McWilliams Lecture
Dec 3, 2013
The Bennett-McWilliams Lecture Series presents Alan Guth, the Victor F. Weisskopf Professor of Physics at MIT. Guth's talk is titled "Inflationary Cosmology: Is Our Universe Part of a Multiverse?" Guth will explain how inflation works, emphasizing how inflation can account for the properties of the cosmic microwave background radiation, which is viewed as the afterglow of the big bang explosion. A reception follows the lecture. The lecture series is sponsored by the McWilliams Cosmology Center in the Physics Department.
