Holocaust Memorial Day

In honor of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day), the CMU Jewish Students Association & Hillel Jewish University Center will be hosting a series of events throughout the day. First will be a day-long name reading of victims of the Holocaust from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the CFA Lawn. Each reader will read names for 10 minutes. After the name reading, a panel discussion will be held at 6 p.m. in Porter Hall 100. The discussion is titled "Recultured: A Conversation on Germany in the Wake of the Holocaust."

At both events, pennies will be collected for the Andy Warhol Museum installation of 6 million pennies, symbolically representing the 6 million Jews who were killed. At the conclusion of the Warhol installation, the pennies will be donated to Holocaust museums. Questions should be directed to Benji Berlow at
